On The One Hundred and Twenty Days of Sodom, Le Brun writes, "this book strikes home like blasphemy, like a disease of the skin, marking all we hold most dear," and here language fails her, in the same way that it fails the anti-war polemicist, for the indescribable begets a longing for knowledge.
