Status Updates From Shade (The Sanctuary #2.5)

Learning that English is not the author’s first language softens some of my harshest opinions on this book that I have so far. She should’ve had an English speaker do a beta read to correct some of the clunkier verbiage.

But maaaan. Exposition dump after exposition dump after exposition dump. That’s not an ESL thing. That would read poorly regardless.

I just can't get into it. I want to like it but the characters are SO BLAND. We have a blind mmc with trauma and a potential shadow daddy but there's no depth to these characters or the plot. I legitimately don't even know how I've gotten this far. Give me substance or AT LEAST a little bit of smut. 67% in and the plot is boring and the spice is kissing and one instance of subpar frotting. Uuuuuuughhh
