She's really channeling Charlotte Brontë, Jane Austen, et al. Takes for bloody ever to read this crap!

Methinks this author has read too many Jane Austen books. The writing style is ancient, there is no real heat between the characters, and there is no connecting the characters with the reader. The language skills of this author are so bad, it's driving me batty. I want to go wild with a red pen all over the pages. Yet, I fear there is no hope of saving this one.

Said he, said she, explained he, murmured she - yeah, this book is that annoying. There is all too much telling going on, no showing, and only one chapter in and I'm ready to flounce. This is horrid! Why would Harlequin put out a book like this? They know better!

I'm glad I got over that half-mark hump, even though I did it because I had paid for the pleasure. Improved towards the predictable ending.

Well, what can I say... I really enjoyed the sample of this book, so I bought it. I am not enjoying it so much now. Things went downhill right after Greyson's and Charlotte's little steamy interlude in her office. Suddenly Charlotte seems to be a different person. Not only is she rich, but incredibly good looking, very self assured and a snappy dresser with pedigree breeding. Maybe i iz jelous, but hellooo, wassup?

(Percentage still a guesstimate.) Okay, the ridiculousness stopped pretty quickly. Now it's getting interesting.

Glad I had the Riva cover, because if I'd been expecting a Presents, I would have been bummed. But it's funny.
