The world was still in the early hours of dawn. A chill hung in the air, seeping into my bones as I leaned against the rough dirt wall of the trench. Frederick Walsh, my best mate since we were in short britches, whistled beside me, the familiar tune of “Amazing Grace” drifting into the silent air.

What was that supposed to mean? Pat was an army surgeon, and as far as I knew, there was no way to fix an icy heart, broken mind, or give a man back his soul.

there is a small list of books that made me actually cry actual tears. I get the feeling this book may go on there.....

Is it wrong to only be interested in my own writing at the moment? Like...all I want to do is reader over my books...I'm literally reading nothing but my own books and book I'm beta editing right...I haven't done this in years! I'm generally always reading something (that wasn't written by me!)!

My editor is almost done with this novella and Jaiden just finished the official cover which is a MILLION times better than this one! I'm so excited about my first Historical Fiction book!
