Status Updates From The Ashfire King (The Sands...

A fun, adventurous read with great pacing, especially in the second half when the story really takes off. The world-building is just as magical as in the first book, and I loved being back with Loulie, Aisha, and Mazen.
The short tales woven throughout were beautifully told, and Aisha remains my favorite character. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series!

It’s not nearly as enjoyable and the The Stardust Thief. Every character has the same backstory, they all had their entire family/clan/village killed in front of them and were left homeless orphans. The big baddie Omar is so ridiculously overpowered. How can he be more powerful than the magical Jinn? I’m also tired of fantasy girl bosses throwing elbows and being able to fight off entire mobs of men. Ridiculous
