I like their taxonomy of farmers: Earners, Gentry, and Noble Losers, though that last one is too mean and snide. They mean something more like “purpose-driven” or “values-driven” and they admit that not all Noble farmers are Losers, and not all Noble farmers are trying to Win by normal business standards.

It’s good! I just finished the chapter in meat farming and it made me want to try some meat alternatives. (Both in restaurants and for home cooking). Perfect timing, it focuses on Pt Reyes and we got back from there literally the day before I started this book.
