I love how this is realistic in that Sasha is busy af and can’t put Ellie first since he’s a powerful leader. A lot of these leaders, kings, emperors, etc have tons of free time to do whatever they want.

I freaking knew it!! Lol, even when things are heavily foreshadowed, it's nice to know it wasn't a red herring or something.

I like how Sasha is still the same as the relationship progresses; he's just a little soft with her in private. If anything, after his torture, he's even more focused on his goals. Didn't know that was possible, but it's not a bad thing.

It's taken me a long time, but I'm starting to become more sympathetic towards Ellie's moral conflict w/Sasha's actions when it comes to violence and murder. It was actually a smart thing to explore from the author's pov. I think I'm just very jaded and would have been team Sasha right away, but I get her reluctance.

I want the traitor to be Lisandra because I haven't liked her since the first book, but I have a feeling I won't be that lucky. I don't even know why I dislike her so much. She's just been kind of dismissive towards Ellie, but that's not a good reason to not like her.

I love the “ he’s maybe only soft for her” trope.

I feel like we could have cut out 200 pages of repetitive whining from Ellie and the story would’ve been 100x better. Just stfu

Ellie is actively trying to pmo. That wimpy 180 happened so quickly. I thought she grew some balls.

I hate when romance stories have prolonged separations between love interests when one is abducted, on an adventure, etc and the other one is just being boring af. I’m okay with short separations, but 20% of the book is a bit too much for my short attention span.

I don’t trust Lisandra at all. I don’t like how she treats Ellie. Someone betrayed them so now I’m skeptical of everyone.
