Status Updates From Like This, But Funnier

I think if I hadn’t read a lot about Hollywood, as well as multiple novels about/set in Hollywood, and seen movies/TV shows about Hollywood, I’d find this a lot more original. While very well-written, it nevertheless feels like a digest of every wry, cynical, contradictory observation and joke you’ve ever heard/read about Tinseltown.

Had high hopes for this, but it’s not really delivering. Despite being well-written.

I definitely feel for Caroline during that first zoom meeting--the dreaded spiel of the elevator speech, the false enthusiasm that makes you wanna gag, the desperation of needing the job but knowing, in all likelihood, that you will probably never talk to this person again--it sucks. I'll say I'm more fortunate that my zooms have been on time and with ppl who genuinely show interest (or at least kindness).

I'll be honest, I didn't choose to read this because of the description; I accepted to read it as an ARC because Amy Schumer endorsed Hallie in the quote on the cover.
