Nothing much happens in this book, but curiously, it works. Great summer read.

Very questionable storyline about a very drunk girl inviting a guy back to her room for sex and him turning her down. Yay for not having sex with someone too drunk to consent but never acknowledging this as a valid reason and having other characters also fail to acknowledge this... Supes creepy

So far the way that co-workers are described is a little uncomfortable. There have been two female characters whom the protag has been ogling. Some stereotyping of gay men too.

Plot is still inching along, with no real escalation. This reads more like a series of nihilist sitcom episodes than a novel.

MC's judginess isn't as grating when you realize that all of the side characters are just as irritating in their own special ways. In fact, it's a bit endearing that MC is super judgmental but tries to be nice to people anyway. (Maybe because it reminds me of what I was like as a teen.)

Really not too much happening yet. The main character's initial goal of skimming money from customers is taking a backseat to social B-sides.
Observations about working at a theme park are spot-on. The park itself isn't described too much, but it doesn't need to be because working in one of these places is apparently the same kind of hell from Disneyland to Six Flags.

I'm already having flashbacks to my four summers of theme park work.
