Status Updates From Demian: The Story of Emil S...

Herman is sooooo emo!. I am enjoying this, but it is truly Buddhism lite with a sprinkle of psychoanalytic theory. The introduction of the overbearing, all-knowing mother is so obvious. And again, I am surprised by the clear queer vibe. Occasionally, apropos of nothing, Hesse mentions Sinclair finding a girl attractive (he never even speaks to them) to deflect from his clear attraction to boys (Demian and others).

This book got me thinking, wondering why they thought of that. I dig a little into researching to understand the concept of reading this book. Especially, someone who is christian. I'm still not sure yet if this book would affect me but I know for sure that it won't change my belief.
