John Scalzi's "Unlocked" is perhaps the most accurate pandemic story I've read since I started living in one. The most quaintly outdated part of the story is the concept that the GOP isn't a religious extremist organisation and that it cares about size of government or whatever. Still, I don't rate literature on it's accuracy and it does remind me why I've never bothered to read much Scalzi.

Reread "As Good as New" by Charlie Jane Anders, which was pleasant.

I've been meaning to read Nicola Griffith's "Cold Wind" for ages, so on a cold winter night I started in the middle of this volume and went for it. I liked it, it's very atmospheric. I wish we'd had enough snow this winter to add to the effect!
