Each story better than the last. Fantastic penultimate segment.

Loved the holiday tale.

Sabbatical - easily my favorite story so far. A lot of that has to do with the specific genre elements of this tale. But dang, I enjoyed that.

Really enjoyed The Big Bet. One of my favorite kind of endings.

If these dogs could talk.

Holy cow.

Next chapter down. I’ll read another today because this one was a shorty and tomorrow I travel.

Another tale down. Which each, I think, “oh this is my favorite.” This far in? I think I love them all.

Another chapter/story down. Twilight Zone/Supernatural Hitchcock vibe in Dream Home. Love the tease about another character in the town’s history, hoping for more on that soon.

Through the first three stories.

Prologue sets the tone well. Being from GA, it’s often treated as this weird “othered” feature, but it’s just a place. And Kyle is doing a good job of letting his characters be in it, and not project SOUTH to the reader in that condescending way so much media does.

Story one is a grim heartbreaker. Story two is..a found footage short story? Loved it.

I’m reading a chapter a day to give myself time to enjoy and reflect on each story.
