So he quits his English professor job and goes to work in the local state park in trail maintenance. At this stage he is still trying to figure out the job, yet it seems the right move for him.

Although I love the beauty of nature, sometimes the grittiness (sp.) and bugginess, not to mention lack of toilets keeps me out of the backwoods. So I can appreciate Mike's initial attitudes.
