Status Updates From Iron Man: Demon in a Bottle

this dealt with the concept of addiction really well and was interesting but i will forget this in a week

today might be the day i complete this book… only two years later.

everytime i read an iron man comic i feel a little more accomplished

#127 is a neat little iron man book. you love to see tony go ham on a bunch of c-listers. i mean some of those guys were so goofy i kinda felt bad for them lmao. and good on that one guy that just left. the first half of this felt very classical while the stuff after justin hammer's defeat felt quite modern. consistent with the late 70s style, this issue felt like a bridge joining two eras of comic books

#126 was fun. kinda gave iron man 3. i honestly thought it was bizarre when tony wanted cap to teach him to fight last issue but to my surprise it actually paid off! loved when they wouldn't give tony alcohol so he threw a fit and electrocuted a man. lmfao. icon. also i never in a million years expected to see porcupine again that was wild!! i am ready for tony to kick it into high gear now. the villains are cooked

#125. cool to see the avengers. i thought this one was fine but im not gonna lie its been like 30 minutes since i finished this and i had to go to marvel database to see which one this was lol

#124. ok wait hear me out. maybe this is the sleep deprivation talking. but this comic book kind of makes you feel drunk. i felt like i was reading this in tony's headspace. things made sense in broad strokes, but the whys and hows are not getting through. it's all a bunch of bright solid colors. the side characters are all kinda misshapen? idk if its intentional but thats how i felt! also that ending!!! shocking!!!

#124 is a welcome return to normal iron man action. i think I've read enough now to come to the conclusion that calling this an arc is a bit generous. the "demon in a bottle" element takes such a backseat, it's more of a background player in the early parts of this storyline. im not saying this as a negative thing, just an observation. it's not what i expected!

#122 is entirely a flashback to a comic I've read multiple times which was disappointing. i was bored sorry!!! i do wonder how this reads for someone who hasn't read the original first appearance of iron man

#121 is a necessary conclusion to the story started in the previous issue but it didn't hit the same for me? maybe it's a state of mind situation. real old comics vibe from this, reminded me of the old 40s namor comics

iron man #120 is a subtle start to this arc, as its main focus is on the Sub-Mariner, with tony's alcoholism getting only a passing mention. still, even as a single issue largely removed from my preconceived notion of this story, i enjoyed this more than i thought i would! I'm on record as not being a huge comics iron man fan but i like the writing of this one. and im super curious what namor is up to (as always)
