Beautiful and poetic. A little difficult for today’s reader due to flowery language, but the messages come through clearly. It was deeply interesting to me to read this line (1894 Address given to Mc Gill Medical School): "The three great advances of the century have been a knowledge of the mode of controlling epidemic diseases, the introduction of anaesthetics, and the adoption of antiseptic methods in surgery."
