Status Updates From The Age of Scorpius

Bad. So fucking bad. Never in my life have I annotated a book so much or been so compelled to fix the poor writing to the point it interrupts my reading and takes me FIVE HOURS to read and comment on two chapters.

Please, anything, ANYTHING to make sense of any of it. There are only 11 pages left.

‘“How long have you been in Rayka?”

“As of five minutes ago, I transported.” He glanced at his wrist. He didn’t have a watch on. He looked back up, pointing at me. “You. Don’t question the transportation. Arcturas get special privileges.”’

You, reader. Don’t question this entirely new thing I just made up for my own lazy convenience. Authors get special privileges.

‘ Kaia had taken my clothing to a material Shapeshifter somewhere in the village for repair while I showered and rested, assumably to a material Shapeshifter somewhere in the village. ‘

“It’s… it’ll make sense later,” says a character.

For some reason I don’t think that’s true.

So, so much magic flowing and shifting and energizing and it’s so significant to the worldbuilding except for how none of it makes a lick of sense and it’s impossible for any reader to have any clue what is going on or how it could possibly be significant. But hey, vibes.

Not even at Chapter One yet and hoo boy! Like, what do words even mean? The 4-paragraph epigraph/prologue thing alone is so unclear.
