I am truly happy she got a letter from her mama highlighting the air of change, of suddenness, of fleshing out the emotional state and weight of the situation and story so far. I’m confused on what Maisie’s mom’s motives are. However, the feeling of home, of tradition. Of helping each other with preparing food. It feels the southern hospitality and there is a quiet warmth that fills me up. The atmosphere of hurt and broken hearts fills it. Maisie’s mom leaving abruptly without goodbye. The cycle remains open. I love the relationship with Aunt Gertie. How fast the night changes
