Status Updates From The Penguin Book of the Int...

Unfortunately the cat has ruined this book and I don’t know if I can continue to read it

Night Women • Edwidge Danticat

Desperate protection of innocence.

The Flower Garden • Mieko Kawakami, translated from Japanese by Hitomi Yoshio

We all take root in our homes and to get torn from it is akin to losing sense of self.

9. 'the july war' by rabih alameddine

this was going well until the last page... yea everyone deals with traumatic stress differently and you couldn't predict wartime behavior but telling your son to go have sex with the neighbor and then doing it yourself when he refuses to, and then blaming him for cheating on your wife, is not it. not sure what the point was.

i have nothing particular to say about this one tbh.. just sad
