And what happens if there’s huge parts of your childhood years that you can’t remember?

“Memories are shaped by the self who is doing the remembering and when the person’s beliefs and emotions change so does the story” - I never considered this before. I assumed that the memory stays as we remembered it when it happened because it’s attached to the feelings you had at that time.

Childhood memory - this really resonated with me that a memory isn’t just what happened but a “reconstruction that reflects yourself and how you want to be seen”, so if someone disputes “facts” it can be a challenge to the “entire sense of who we are and how we stand in relation to other people”. Think this is quite telling in sibling relationships because the same event can be seen so differently

A lot of psychology about childhoods and relationships tends to focus on the child’s relationship with their parents but not necessarily the relationships between siblings. This is a really interesting concept, as it takes into consideration, birth order, gender, number of siblings, cultural expectations - I never really considered this before
