Someone clearly dropped the ball for Australia. Only two locations and the 2nd one has two repeating paragraphs. tisk tisk.

Finished North America. Disappointed that they couldn't be bother to include at least one Canadian structure, once again implying that North America is once again just the United States of America (it's just a growing pet peeve of mine). Given that they were focusing on some of the tallest buildings, you'd think they could have spared a mention for the CN tower, or the Edmonton Mall in terms of size. Disappointed.

We're in asia! i was disappointed to see that Africa had a whole 25 pages allocated to it, while Europe made up for 1/2 the book. Are you seriously trying to tell me that Africa hasn't developed any interesting architecture between the pyramids and the new Library of Alexandria? I know there's so many great sites to choose from all over the world, but I feel like someone dropped the ball.

Got more than what i was expecting with the book, but now i'm thinking maybe I should read my Art History book because it dives deeper into the political and economic elements as to why these works were created.
Oh great...here we have another church. Palaces and churches...yup. We know who were the cash hoarders who needed to overcompensate.

Need to go back and read all of the photo captions for more info. So far this is a very light read that's photo focused. The historical depth is shallow at best, but it's designed to wet the traveller's appetite. I think i'll dig out my art history book for more depth of some of these locations.

The photos a beautiful! Some real talent went into these. It's nice to see something taken that's not just the author with a camera claiming to be 'pretty good' with photography. Ref: review on the Haunted Houses of Britain.
