Status Updates From Shattered Queens - Serena

This was like a bad lifetime movie that I couldn’t turn off. Finishing this was my own personal hell. 365 pages and roughly 6 hours of my life I’ll never get back. I should have dnf’ed at 20% at the latest. Lesson painfully learned. Excuse me while I go pour bleach in my eyes in hopes to burn this from my retinas.

On the heels of my very first dnf, was picking another unknown indie book with very few ratings wise? TBD…

Ian’s mother was the mastermind… that’s all I will say.

Serena is a literally bada$$. She slayed her own demons with the love and support of Ian. I need this whole families stories. Each sibling & cousin.

We finally get the backstory to why Serena has such trauma and man.. check the trigger warners but it’s so worth being in the dark for a little bit.

Her parents are absolutely awful and it makes sense why she’s so close to the Lobo family now. Ian puts her parent in their place. They go to have a dinner with Ian’s parents and sister and Vee and Serene instantly like eachother. We find out that her bff and his brother have a past… can we get them next?!

We love a man who tracks his girl

. Serena must have been drugged by a drink in the past and she meets a bartender on a trip who keeps everything sealed so she can enjoy herself. This man flys the bartender to town to serve Serena on their date bc that’s how she’s comfortable. I’m swooning.

Ian is obsessed with our girl. He moves guys to other floors just bc they looked at her. This is already off to a great start.

Serena doesn’t talk to her family. She’s had something happen in the past but we don’t know yet. Whatever the past is shows up at a work gala and she kicks him where it hurts and punches him. Ian witnesses this.
