After a couple years, I'm restarting Poe's short stories. This began on 5 August, 2026. I will update this listing as I read each story with a link to the relevant reviews.

First short story done: "The Adventure of Hans Pfaall"
That took a while to get through with all the very detailed, scientific descriptions and long sentences. Almost like an Andy Weir of this time. 😂

Metzengerstein — The descriptions of young baron and his infernal horse are evocative, but the story surrounding them was rather boring. I think these characters could surely do more.

X-ing a Paragraph — an unassuming and genuinely hilarious story. Probably because Poe stopped trying so hard to set up a believable ground to an unbelievable story. Very natural. Best of the bunch, I’d say!
