Wow. I wrote this book like ten years ago, and finally editing it again. It's pretty sick, ngl. lol.

Editing this book after years of letting it sit and ripen, and I’m shocking and exciting myself with all the twists and turns. It’s awesome!

“You cannot tell him what you’ve done,” he warned her. “This stays between us. And if I find Hersh - he will suffer for what he has done to you.”

“I’m saying we open a little place. A restaurant. Not big - a few tables, a small kitchen. You cook the way you cook now, and I’ll handle the rest. We feed people, we earn honest money. Nobody looks twice.”

"Hersh ran into the bushes. The bullets missed - just barely. He could feel bark exploding off the trees to his left. Six times Aaron tried. Six times he nearly hit him. Bullets hit the ground inches from his feet. Or struck tree trunks just above his head. Or disappeared into the underbrush.
They sliced the air in front of him. Behind him."

In the chapter I just edited, Moses must kill a member of the Vory in order to prove his loyalty to the Suki in a Siberian gulag. The weapon, a ruby-hilted knife, was supplied by the guards, who set up this murder.
