Didn’t even plan to read such a relevant story right now. In chapter 13, Klein discusses how the holocaust drew inspiration from European colonialism and settlers in North America. This is a discussion I have been hearing by many activists about what’s happening in this country. Genocide and white supremacy is quite literally the backbone of America.

Wearying of continually being confused with once-eminent feminist turned conspiracy crony Naomi Wolf is enough for Klein to drink the haterade and dive down the rabbit hole of obsession with her namesake. Appallingly, but aptly, while reading the first third of the book, I realised that when trying to visualise Klein, I was actually imagining Naomi Watts.

Listening to the audiobook of this one while at work, this is some really great stuff so far I’m heavily invested. Already willing to recommend this to people.

Wow this felt relevant. Naomi reminds us that Hilters methods were not unique and that most Europeans did not have a problem with Nazi Germany for a long time. That many did not agree with it, but it didn’t affect them so they stayed silent (complicit)…. Until it grew too big, too powerful, and it did affect them. She also touches on how “Jews” were put into Auschwitz because the government wanted their land
