Ok apparently I'm done with the main story and it took me by surprise bc the book is 500+ pages long. I'd say it's so angst and doomed I LOVE it!! 5 stars for the main story

Ok this is good so far- the fmc is so feisty and lively, I love her quips! I also really like Pei Zhao so far... let's hope he survives...

I just finished the translator note and she does such a fantastic job in grounding the story theme to the historical narrative and the themes of power, I'm already hooked. I hope the rest of this book is as good as her note.
