naoe saying that they've already decided on how many times they'll allow sho to smile in the series is terrifying to say the least
but on a lighter note, this arc was fantastic and absolutely the height of the series so far. and good on naoe for sticking to their guns and not moving the smile back to chapter 47. it's WAY more impactful in 48 when akira can witness it. and it just makes more sense there anyway

"i'm happy for you. that just goes to show how much sho-kun values you as a partner". this sounds like amamiya is congratulating them on their engagement and he's not wrong!!!! and akira's adorable blush and incredibly emotional scrunched up little face OUCH
they do not need to bring in another bed for sho actually!! one is plenty!!!!! crazy switch up from the man who just called them gay to their faces

yeah no for sure let's dedicate an entire two page spread to sho smiling lovingly at akira and akira being stunned by the uncharacteristic show of open softness (and also how beautiful it looks on him) uh huh this is the gayest shonen to ever do it

maybe i shouldn't read this series at work bc i almost just snorted at akira's fucking reaction here WDYM YOU WISH SHO HAD BEEN THE ONE TO SAVE YOU????? sho definitely did save him and he's just downplaying it bc he feels guilty for not doing MORE. where's the flashback of sho carrying akira out, barely staying upright himself, until he reunites with the rest of the amo bc i KNOW that's how it went down

and i feel like a lesser author might've had sho repeat that phrase to drive home the paralleling but it was a fantastic choice to instead have him collapse next to akira's side and utter a simple "gunji-san". reinforcing that their bond is genuine and built off of respect and compassion. "i finally found you" focuses too much on the "i", especially after hearing it from harold. sho is only focused on AKIRA

the ending of this chapter really supports my earlier reading about sho being paralleled with harold. both revivians, both feel a red string connection to akira, but while harold's "i finally found you" is brought on by his own selfish desires and twisted fascination with death, sho finding akira (the unspoken "i finally found you") is all love, all human, all pure relief and vulnerability. incredible chapter

harold is saying that he and akira are connected by a red thread of fate, but he's ACTUALLY referring to whatever being is inside of akira. meanwhile, the person who is soulmate bonded to akira as a HUMAN is sho. i'm always pleasantly surprised by how gay this manga is whenever i come back to it

this was potentially my most anticipated release of a month that has been absolutely stacked with manga releases, so let's hope it delivers like i remember the previous volume doing
