Status Updates From Agrippa

Perhaps I'm distracted by what happens to all the women in this book. There's not even any point. Not even a fantasy point like in flawed male perception like when I read Red Winter earlier this year. It's just bootlicker Agrippa in comparable "objectivity" talking about his 18 year old wife thinking no one will love her after being fat and pregnant. With a 46 year old man's baby she had no choice but to carry.

He saw at once how foolish he had been himself to talk of suicide. The fortunes of war and life change quickly. One must never give in to despair.

But then wars would not occur unless they were fought by men too young and reckless to understand the risks they were taking.

One's name shapes one's character.
One's character determines one's destiny.
