This goodbye to the summer camp feels unearned. We barely saw them at this summer camp. Even in the story, it’s only been 2 weeks lol. It just wasn’t enough time (in the story timeline or on page) for us to get attached.

“There has to be something I’m missing, an actual reason I haven’t been able to feel stuff around Daniel.”

Daniel has barely been in the story. This plot point should’ve either been expounded upon, or removed from the book. As it is, it doesn’t make sense.
