Status Updates From Most Ardently Yours

My prediction is that Zoe and Nick are going to find a way to get Darcy back home.

After Zoe denies Nick’s order to destroy a copy of Pride and Prejudice. Zoe reads the novel, Darcy comes to life and moves in with her. She soon discovers that keeping him is a dangerous mistake and his presence in the real world can erase both Darcy himself and the novel from existence. “Mr. Darcy is starting to fade, and unless you read him back into Pride and Prejudice soon, he'll disappear completely" (165).

I get a lot of anxiety from stories where the protagonist builds a ball of lies and just keeps wrapping another rubber band around the ball, as it gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger. I just want them to tell their friends, instead of ending up creating a cascade failure which ends with them in a huge, humiliating mess. It’s also a bit trope-y.
