Status Updates From Dearly Departed

At this point I'm reading this just so I can finish it. This is not nearly as good as I was told. 😑

Was going pretty normally but then they started saying some weird things during the sex scene…they worked better in every other scene so hopefully they do not have more sex because I was enjoying them.

This man, this god, let himself soften with me. And despite every impossible detail, every overwhelming secret, I want nothing more than to protect that softness.

I huff, shaking my head. "You're a handful." He winks. "But that's why you're here. He's not wrong. Levi sips, watching me over the rim like he's trying to see me. Really see me. And, in what feels like a first, I don't mind being seen.

Most people look right through me; Levi looks and sees. It's equal parts uncomfortable and addictive, being known in ways I never intended.

His optimism feels foreign, so... opposite of everything I've built my life around. He speaks so easily of hope and growth, things I buried long ago, and yet I find myself leaning closer, a moth drawn recklessly toward a flame.
