This book keeps going in interesting directions.

Well she's a jerk. Good thing she's spent most of the book not talking. I liked it better when she didn't open her mouth except to spew flames in battle. I bet they'll eventually get through to her, but probably not for a while.

Is any of the world building explained? Nope. Do we know what's really happening with this war? Nope. Is Raina overly emotional at the most inconvenient times? Yes. This has the same wishy-washy-ness from his debut, but this time with a plot bigger than family politics. I fully understand everyone's criticisms, and to some degree I agree. But I read to have fun, and I am having fun :3

Oh, that was a gut punch...

I love Wiswell's writing, & I will absolutely return to this, but it's only been 10 days since Cruce passed, & this...may not be the best book for me right now...

I can definitely see why this is not a book for everyone, but I like it.
