my opinion of this may be slightly biased given that i know pete in a professional context… he also helped confirm the origin of one of my weird biomarker signals in my mid-early holocene samples. my supervisor and i had a really cool penguin based theory and WE WERE RIGHT. so i definitely have a soft spot for emperors.

the plan had been to read a big chunk of this then go to sleep early but instead i ended up in another research hole about the celtic tribe i’m descended from and its now 2.32am. so i executed that plan flawlessly clearly.

turns out i'm not in the middle of as many (fully published) series as I thought I was. so maybe I'll prioritise finishing the first realm of the elderling trilogy (farseer? I think?) now that I own the second one, and then I'll finally start mistborn. but my fear is that I'll then want to just binge the rest of mistborn immediately...
