Status Updates From Wench

I'm enjoying this, much more than I expected too!
Lox, aka Robin Hood, is enchanted by Marian, and I'm so here for it.
Loving the sizzling chemistry between them.
Marian is finally settling into sherwood & she's just started training.

“A WINK THAT DOESN’T QUITE REACH HIS EYES” WINKS ARE DONE EXCLUSIVELY WITH THE EYES!!!!! DID YOU MEAN SMILE AND NOT WINK???? YOU ARE SAYING NONSENSE! THIS BOOK IS PISSING ME OFFFFFFFF!!!!!!

Figured out what I dislike about the writing so much. Every description is a simile. Every noise is like some animal. Every gaze is the prick of a needle, or a nettle, or some such prodding device. Like. As. Such.

Yeah, not super sold on the inclusion of fae in a Robin Hood story. Also, so not charmed by our Robin here either. I’ve admittedly only just met him, but he’s coming off as less of a plucky trickster and more of an “alpha male” type. I’ve yet to be sold on the necessity of this being a Robin Hood retelling at all.

Not sure about this one, but I got an advance copy off of Goodreads, so might as well give it a shot

I'm really enjoying Wench so far. The fae's world within Sherwood is so magical, and every Fae has a part to play in keeping the forest safe from humans.
I like Marian's character.
The underlying chemistry between Lox and Marian i can't wait to see what happens with them!

I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying this book already. It's a unique twist on Robin Hood with fae. But still set in sherwood forest.

Alright the fmc is just pissing me off at this point
