Status Updates From Non-Human Origin

About a third through this book. Not sure how I feel about this one. So far I don't find any of the characters particularly interesting.

Wait a minute! I'm starting to have an AI suspicion!

Thoughts on this so far: some serious cliches, the author likes to use tons of adverbs, ridiculous inner musings. The plot's interesting, though, and Antarctica has always been fascinating to me, so I'm sticking with it for a bit.
