At the beginning: I love the relationship between her and Hewitt. Nice introduction of family, and the world. Good worldbilding. Intro of love interest is well done.
Start of Call for adventure: the relationship sometimes gives me the impression of being a bit too much. New characters: good and believable.
He seems to fall first.
However: nothing is at stake so far. And I wished the soldiers would cause trouble
