Status Updates From Irish Ghost Stories

Typical ghost story of a dog turned bad spirit that was making bad things happen to the people who lived in the house it was in one turned into a tragedy because of it. Apparently the ghost was then buried somehow that was the end of that...

Wow what a story. Short but shocking about Bloody Sunday 2 officers who made a pact to visit the other if one should ever have passed away that one man would return from the grave in spirit as it happened in this story. Turns out the officer had been shot.

A typical headless horseman story it happened so fast a man came to a family to pay them money but apparently it didn't go as planned as the man of the house decapitated him and the man's spirit returned as a headless horseman.

Turns out the girls heart was taken from her and she wants her heart buried somewhere she wanted it to be buried in a woodland near her house she got her wish after that the activity stopped her heart was finally put to rest it would seem. Loved this story but I wanted more...could have been a bigger story in itself.

Another great story but again sad but there is closure at the end. A young girl falls sick and just wants to go home and doesn't make it as she doesn't make it the home she lived in and the room she stayed in becomes haunted by her footsteps. People that work there over time do not stay long, they bring in paranormal investigators to figure out what's going on...

An apparition story about The Yellow House what a story could have had more on this story as long as it was I was just getting into it. A man gives an account to talking to another man who he doesn't know and has no memory of it and somehow they talked buisness for a good half hour and he has no memory of it. A woman has been seen talking to someone but nobody knows who or where the person is, turns out its a ghost.

That has to be my favorite story of the whole book. It sets you up and makes you know and understand who the characters are. A very good story but very sad ending as a young couple wanted nothing but to get married and run away but it was never to be, as the female character is killed mysteriously as it was thought but it was by the person in charge of her in the house she worked in just for trying to steal jewelry.

A short story of ghosts at a family festival, ghosts saving lives of someone who fell in water and mysteriously was placed out of the water seconds later. How it happened they were not even sure. After seeing a woman in the water and years after the same thing but they managed to get out that time. A ghost of a woman who was seen days after her passing on a terrace, many friends of a man who were ghosts...

Very short story but I could see it as it happened a ghost of a soldier from the military came out of a building showing itself to other living Irish Soldiers it would not reveal who he was so the living fired on it but nothing happened it then passed right through them. The next day the building the apparition came from was burned to the ground there was no explanation and to how it happened.

This story almost sounds like a tale something from folklore. The story of a phantom animal that transforms or was just changed everytime it was told. More or less they believed it to be the evil one. It's kind of a sad story near the end as the entity appears as a black horse and a fox is chasing it and dogs are after the fox right before it nearly goes over a cliff the dogs and fox go over the entity seems to live.

Very sad story of a woman not getting to have her freedom to see anyone and a sighting of the devil disguised as a man. The young woman was confined away in the castle she lived in and eventually got sick and passed away. She returned as a ghost and did the same thing she was doing in life walking the halls of the castle.

This story reminds me of a few stories the lady of the lake in the Arthurian Story and La Llorona the weeping lady in white as she had been witnessed. Very interesting story.

One short story of a phantom horse and the next story had me glued to every page a haunted house and cat that was set on fire church burnings from a crazy individual and all because of the things that happened in the hellfire club. The house was a place of evil things happening, a deal a man jumped with his horse from 3 stories up and he survived, gambling and other weird things. You almost feel like you were there.

A couple of great short stories all in one chapter. I really enjoyed reading them it really pulls you in the one that really stands out and left me wanting more was the story of a phantom train people were seeing. I think that could have gone on and been a bigger story if it was a novel.

Just some unusual happenings in this town from headless horses and a headless servant driving a carriage to the sound of cars that were not there to phantom ghosts and weird sounds.

The infamous Ghost Room in a college has people intrigued about what was really going on there as a couple of people took their lives there. It was so bad they had to block it up and place a Saint in the area it all happened very sad.

A quick story of a vision of a ghost in a castle story not much to it just an account of someone witnessing the ghost.

Another short story of a priest being hanged and as it wasn't going to get a proper burial someone related to him would make that happen. But each year on the day he was hanged a light appears and follows the same path that they brought him to be properly buried.

The shortest of all stories so far the tale of a phantom arm waking someone up at night...

Very intriguing story about the ghost in this house in Ireland. The murdered young woman the blood that showed up on new timber after it was replaced. The ceremony to cleanse the house and the eventual demolition of the house and the timbers that didn't burn from the room the young woman was seen in, now that's creepy and weird...

Ok now that one took a little time to get creepy but ended with a man being crushed in between plates a part of the boat its the reason a crushed skeleton had been found and a ghost of a paymaster who worked aboard the boat was killed on it. That's the reason for its haunting.

I actually loved this short story more than it was made to be somewhat scary. The case of a church with a local resident ghost of a friar who comes back to do midnight mass it would seem. The story of how he got one of the living to witness his presence and go along with his mass was so interesting knowing he wasn't in the flesh. Great story.

A short story of a wedding day gone wrong and sad. The typical bride throwing herself off the top of a tower on a building because her love has been lost due to an accidental death of her love. I believe this story has some bit of truth to it as I have seen something like this on TV a similar story of this happening many years ago.

A case of poltergeist activity but nothing out of place, potatoes being launched from what seems like nowhere. Could have been the house that sat there was on a burial property. Crazy story seems like it was based on a true story.

A short book of Spooky tales for Spooky Season. Typical ghost lady short story could have given a little more story before it ended.
