Status Updates From Restrung: A Memoir of Music...

When the prelude gives you chills, you can already sense the depth of what you are about to read. I feel myself somewhat terrified to continue. But also thrilled at the chance to even come across such a story.

I already knew I was reading a truly special book, but these last three pages (107-09), the report from the rehearsal and performance of Brahms' 4th at the Hollywood Bowl brought tears to my eyes. I don't know where the story will take me, but I already know this an unforgettable book that all musicians should read.
