Status Updates From How to Get Suspended and In...

Can't stand it any more. It's just too awful to continue.

This is terrible so far, but the premise is amusing enough I'm willing to keep going at least a bit longer.

Sure, there's the gross humor and the wacky situations, but truth is this: I miss Stan. He's like the crazy mad genius advisor who instigates everything and encourages self-improvement through ways that don't make sense until the end. Much like Yoda or Mr. Myiagi. Things aren't the same withou him.

I DO like that Leon's family dynamics are expanded upon: The crazy inventions and the food disasters.

Using the concept of Manifest Destiny to justify sitting in the back row of the history classroom and making it a mission to read every sex scene in classic literature....it's smart and obnoxious and geekishly freaky. I love it!

This may not be AS great as Play Me Backward, but this IS the author's debut novel (supposedly). And, thus far, we're still looking at another 5-star rating here.
