BLYTHE DOTED ON HER HUSBAND AT
breakfast, slicing his bacon into tiny pieces, one of which she fed to him. Aris was practi-
cally preening from the coddling, and Signa had half a mind to kick him under the table.
"What's wrong with your face?" he asked her between bites of his meal, his voice low and taunting. "Jealousy is unbecoming on
you, Signa."

"SOME HELP YOU WERE," SIGNA complained as she passed Aris later that evening. Though his skin was healed, Aris was still clutching his arm against his chest pathetically. It seemed he rather enjoyed Blythe's coddling.

Currently undecided on how to feel about this book. I had been excited for a Christmas mystery in this world since Foxglove came out and Adalyn hinted that she would make a story like this…. However…. At the time I was picturing Foxglove house, Thorngrove, and society to be involved. I think the situation with Blythe and Aris forcing a time skip and removing us from the original world/narrative is unfortunate :/

"A bell, brother," Aris declared. "I shall secure a bell to that cowl of yours before Christmas is through, I swear it."
"I would love to see you try." The cowl in question slipped from his figure alongside his shadows, revealing Death's human form.
