it really does feel quite revolutionary to be reading a pretty popular shonen that is very bluntly talking about how nothing is inherently gendered and that what’s “normal” changes all the time and is decided by some invisible power that will never be satisfied so who tf cares about trying to shove yourself into those boxes anyway. tsubaki really is such an important character and i’m so happy that he exists

god i love everything about tsubaki and the way he's portrayed with dignity and care as a character. this archetype of the effeminate gay (either explicitly stated or heavily implied) guy in shonen tends to be the butt of the joke but everyone fucking loves and respects tsubaki, and they don't just wave away his flamboyance as a weird trait to get past. i am absolutely beaming at this casual queer rep

like are we actually kidding this is the sweetest shit i've ever fucking seen
i've adopted so many sons

what absolutely stunning imagery for this step in sakura's development. i love the simplistic style, it looks as light and bright and free as he's describing it. and i especially love how he face-plants off the tightrope (which is revealed to be about a foot away from the ground) and into the flowers. blunt and simple and so effective

sakura is quite literally never beating the feral cat allegations

AAAAWWWWW🥹
This was such a cute filler arc
