Status Updates From The Burn Line

I am honestly SO bored. I really thought I was much closer to being done (I'm listening to the audiobook) and I'm just so ready for this story to wrap up already 😭

Wow, is this book boring.

Jonathan Sims seems to have a habit of only killing off the middle-aged corporate white man. And while I like his diversity, I also really like seeing middle-aged white men suffer in horror and I don’t like it when they just die. Maybe I’m just into middle-aged white men. Maybe I project onto them. If this book didn’t have Will I would have finished it. But including him just to kill him made me lose interest.

I’m really struggling through this one. The characters are very one dimensional archetypes. The actual horror is slow burn which means the characters should be carrying this one. Also it’s evidently pandemic but sounds more like post pandemic..
