i had a nightmare last night that this was going to end with harper as the killer somehow

sorry that im updating like every chapter but tariq said he couldnt come along to the house at 8am bc important donors were coming to the aquarium (its Monterey BAY Aquarium btw juliet, not monterey aquarium) but now he's going sample-collecting? it cant be more than like 10am right? unless the book did another poor transition again (likely)

we're over halfway through now and we really havent focused on the case very much. like, i dont have any suspects. serrano thinks its tariq but i doubt it, but mostly because of my knowledge of mystery tropes. it could be the husband or brother but idk!! we dont really know anyone else and harper is a terrible detective character! shes a realistic character but thats not good for this kind of story!!! ugh!

truly i was ready to dnf and now we're getting interesting. i have a lot to read in august so if i lose interest/it gets annoying again i probably will just drop it rip
