Status Updates From In Mozart's Shadow: His Sis...

PROTAGONIST: The protagonist of this book is Nannerl Mozart. In this part of the book, Nannerl is feeling unhappy with her life. She is unhappy with her marriage and is frustrated with her misbehaving children. Page 325 says, "I would submit to the pain of separation for the baby's own welfare. " She wants to be with her son, but leaves him to her father so that her son does not have to endure the life she lives.

TYPES OF CONFLICT: The conflict in my story is character vs. self. I know this because Nannerl is fighting against her feelings of jealousy for her brother, angry for her father, and grief for her mother's death. On page 221 Narnnerl says, "I have only a pale memory of the days following the news of Mama's death. It seemed very unreal." Nannerl talks about the grief she felt as she fought with her emotions.

SETTINGS: The setting of my book is in 1700's in Salzburg and other parts of Europe. This book is about the Mozart family, particularly Nannerl. The book takes place in the time Mozart lived, 1700's. Mozart lived in Salzburg and traveled around Europe.

I'm enjoying getting to know Nannerl. Though, I do feel sorry for her. Bless her heart. Isn't she allowed some happiness and success in her life?

"Now, Wolferl," Papa said, "it's time to begin work on your opera, La finta semplice- "The Pretend Simpleton" - was chosen by the manager of the Vienna Burgtheatre, a certain Signor Affligio, who would be in charge of the production.

Don’t get me wrong. I still like Mozart. I admire his talent and skill as well as his sister’s talent and skill. Of course they should have gotten the same amount of attention, as she was just as amazing as he was. I wish I could hear her play.

It is difficult to imagine Motzart as anything but an only child, especially after watching the 1984 film Amadeus and learning of his outlandish attention commanding personality. But I do like Nannerl, and I'm enjoying getting to know her.
