Status Updates From Umbra (Echoes of Fate, #1)

I’ve decided to soft DNF this book at this time. I’m having a hard time connecting with the story and the dual timeline. It’s reading a tad NA/YA in the writing and plot line. I really liked the description and premise of the book, but the world building is very “telling” not “showing”.

Putting this on hold for now. Having trouble getting into the world, it feels like I’m missing a lot of context. While this is supposed to be the start of a new series, apparently it is recommended to read a trilogy before this one that is set in the same world. If I get around to reading those I’m hoping to come back to this and that it will make more sense
