There’s a certain suspension of disbelief that can apply to (romance) books with no fantastical elements. I think when there’s a fantasy element in place, or a dystopian one, there’s an expectation for the world itself to make sense. Even if that means I come across as overly critical, but then again, this book should be revised and republished because the basic elements are there!

Why would Dank overlook a _soulless_ creature who had taken an interest in _his_ Pagan? Why allow her to even enter a relationship with something that is not of this earth?
Why would Leif underestimate Dank’s feelings for Pagan? If he really had been meant to transport Pagan to his home as his consort, why would he dismiss the feelings of an ancient deity such as Death?

A voodoo spirit lord that takes the form of what a human would consider a demon, according to Dank, has a ¿Caribbean? accent because?

This would’ve made a lot more sense if Dankmar, the Death Deity, hadn’t also been the lead singer of Cold Soul and had plenty of time to traverse Earth in his physical body. How can he say Pagan is the reason for these new emotions when he has experienced what it is to exist outside of his purpose?

Glimmer situation occurring right now? The Silence from Doctor Who? As if the general population are slowly having their memories of Leif erased, like he had never existed to begin with, let alone had gone missing. He was created, he is not a human, so his “parents” are not truly his and will soon have no awareness of ever having a son?

Pagan’s mum’s legs are “hot for an old woman”? This girl has seriously strange regard for her friends and family…basically anyone who is not Dank.
