One character exits rather suddenly (didn’t care for that), some of the trials feel rushed, and something about the romance isn’t quite right (and the story might be more interesting without it, honestly).

Definitely had a hard time connecting in the beginning. The story and main character felt a little bare bones to me and I wasn’t interested until maybe 40-50 pages in, though the first couple pages were gripping.

Not sure what I think of the love interest (the way they met, how they keep meeting, the way secrets are revealed between them) - something feels like it’s missing.

The tea magic is intriguing.
