Notes:
(1) The last third of this is described as "a remix of HP Lovecraft's short Christmas story 'The Festival'."
- I've not read the source material—nor any Lovecraft for that matter. All I can say is that this felt not so much a remixed classic as an awkward modernization.
- Anything that culminates in underground kaiju monsters and riding giant bats is trying too hard.

Notes:
(1) The middle third is comprised of previously published webcomics.
- It's about what you'd expect—not great, but some decent art.
(2) Initially, I thought the story about the guy blessed/cursed by baby Jesus to poop candy was really stupid. But then I read in the endnotes that the nativity pooper and the pooping log are genuine traditions in Catalonia.
- Go figure!

Notes:
(1) The first third of this is a story called "Christmas in the Harz," which is a kind of pastiche of Germanic fairytale/Santa elements.
- This really throws you into the deep end culturally, though I don't know enough about the traditional stories to tell how authentic or faithful any of this is.
- It does give off a very pagan Black Forest vibe, so points for that.

Notes:
(1) So, I kind of burned through all the Christmas anthologies on my TBR over the past few years, but I thought I should read at least one this holiday season.
- I picked up this Image anthology at random, since it's brand new and isn't tied to any particular series or franchise.
- It seems to focus more on traditional folklore, which feels refreshing and intriguing.
