Someone trying to kill the boys is their father, Ben, when Sadie and Henry make it there because he hid in her truck and let her know halfway through that he was going with her then has a shotgun and at Henry and then the sheriffs all fire and kill Ben and find Felix chained inside and a newborn baby that Felix named Julia. Gabby had Julia and then died in child labor.
Terrible book!
