Most people have no concept of the future.
What they have is a fairytale that they tell themselves, over and over. We will not always be poor; things will be better because we deserve it; my daughter will get a job in the city and make enough money for all of us.
Wishes. Dreams. Little boats on the vast river between the shores of present and the future.
