"Why can't you see him?
Climb down and lift me up on your shoulder,
my eyes can see better than yours in the dark.
Lift me, and I shall see him,
And plant your feet firmly."
Dialogue (Hanna Abu Hanna, 'A Child from My People') exhibits the motif/phrase repetition, somewhat Biblic sound, of the rhyme of Old Hebrew poetry. Is that just a thing with Semitic languages' poetic traditions?

[...]
Was it some playfulness that brought him to me,
some whim?
...
Or has he been sent on some errand,
to climb in secret upon my windowsill,
like a carrier pigeon,
bringing me some glad news, some message?
(For in their struggle my people
welcomes help from its legions of children
and sends them forth like homing pigeons,
like marching troops, ready to fight.)

Behind the bars, shining eyes appear,
eyes of a child, barely ten years old,
who climbed to the window of my cell,
and peeked in, looking for me,
to pout forth hope and tenderness upon my dark horizon.

-Abu Hanna, 'A Child from my People'

Thus, Mansur Kardush [...] states:
Art and culture are two weapons which, when directed at a specific objective, elevate the ideology of an entire nation. As fir pure art and culture, these belong to the age of feudalism and a life of luxury and superficial prosperity [ . . .]
